The Patton Township Board of Supervisors, following the lead of State College Borough Council, approved an ordinance Wednesday that allows township residents in single-family homes to keep chicken hens.
The ordinance passed 3-1, with Josh Troxell, Jeff Luck and Walter Wise in favor and Bryce Boyer opposed. Chairman Elliot Abrams was not present.
The new regulation permits up to four chicken hens per single-family dwelling except on lots of 2 acres or more, where up to eight chickens are permitted.

Everyone should have chickens. I love our chicken, and wish I had time to raise more. Sadly, I think that our rooster died over the winter.
