Gentlemen, Start Your Planning!

Yes, it's that time of year again. Time to start planning the themes for the upcoming season. There is a always a lot of reminiscing about previous tailgates (A Moveable Feast), reading through cookbooks (most recent purchase: bars & squares), and making lists of ideas that get modified, refined, and ultimately agreed upon. Being inspired by the recent YouTube video Pennsylvania Guys, we've landed upon 'A Tour of Pennsylvania' for Homecoming. It combines most of my favorite things (Middleswarth chips and Yuengling) with my favorite Pennsylvania Guys. And it is easy for the tailgating team to add in their favorites foods and drinks from around the state. So, I'd like ask...what is your favorite Pennsylvania food/drink? Post them in the comments and we'll review and pick a few to bring to the tailgate. Of course with our own special 'twist'...

And with that...let the planning begin!

I'm so excited about this year's tailgates. Now we just have to think of 7 more...

As to my favorite PA foods (other than the aforementioned Middleswarth) I'm a big fan of Philadelphia hot roast pork - with sharp provolone. great, now i'm hungry. ;)

I am with you on the Philly hot roast pork with provolone! However, I have to disagree with anonymous on scrapple.

Still waiting on whther I am coming up for Illinois and/or Michigan. The wife and I were up in State College last weekend-as wonderful as ever (We hope to retire there.).

1. yeungling lager.
2. taylor pork roll
3. hot roast pork with broccoli rabe and sharp provalone. pick up 5 lbs (they will freeze it for you) at lenny's italian deli in conshy with amaroso rolls, and serve buffet style.
4. pepper shooters from sarcone's deli
5. bread from sarcones (can be frozen overnight and will not lose anything) bakery
6. fresh mozzerella from claudios

scrapple is the lutefish of PA foods, and should always be avoided.

Taylor Pork Roll is from Trenton, NJ :)

Wow, favorite Pennsylvania food is tough. Jim's Steaks cheesesteak (wit whiz), Utz potato chips, martin's potato rolls and CREAMERY ICE CREAM are probably my top 3.
